(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department holds one of its major fundraisers of the year this weekend. Chief Chris Yungbluth says they’ll be holding their annual pancake feed…
“It’s our 45th annual and we’ll be having it Friday night or tonight from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and then again on Saturday morning from 7:00 to noon. We’ll be down at the Arnolds Park station which is right behind Arnolds Park City Hall. If you’re cruising down ’71 you can’t miss us. We’ll put the big trucks out by the highway and get them lit up so that people will know that we’re open and ready to go and we usually have old glory flying up on the ladder truck, too.”
Yungbluth says you should come hungry…
“Great pancakes served up by the Milford Boy Scouts and we grill fresh sausage by the firemen and a drink. It’s all you can eat, it’s a pretty good deal for $5.00 for an adult and $2.50 for kids, so.”
Yungbluth says they’ll use the proceeds to update protective gear…
“Yeah, this year we’re designating some of those funds for personal protective equipment for our firefighters. We started replacing our helmets last year. Unfortunately there’s an expiration date on all of our personal protective equipment and so we have to replace that every so many years and we got part of it replaced last year and we want to do the rest this year.”
The fire station in Arnolds Park is located on the east side of city hall, right on Highway 71.
