Another NW Iowa Community Will Hold A Public Meeting Regarding Emerald Ash Borer

(Cherokee)– Another northwest Iowa community will be holding a public informational meeting regarding emerald ash borer. This one is scheduled for Wednesday, May 18th at the ISU Extension and Outreach office in Cherokee. It will begin at 6:30 that evening and will feature Dr. Donald Lewis, ISU Professor and Extension Entomologist; Mike Kintner, Emerald Ash Borer Coordinator with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship; and Amber Thompson, Forestry Specialist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Those planning to attend will need to pre-register by calling 712-225-6196, as seating is limited.

Emerald ash borer has been confirmed in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Ida, O’Brien, Sac and Sioux counties in northwest Iowa.
