(Spirit Lake)– Two people are vying for the Republican nomination for the district two seat on the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors in the June 7th Primary Election. Barb Clayton today (Monday) officially announced her candidacy. She’ll be squaring off against fellow Republican Bill Leupold, who currently serves as the board’s chairman. District 2 includes all of Big Spirit Lake, the city of Spirit Lake from Highways 9 & 71 north to Big Spirit Lake and from Highway 71 south along Hill Avenue to 28th Street west to include Center Lake.
Other positions on the primary ballot include those for the Districts 1 and 4 seats on the Board of Supervisors. Republican incumbents Kim Wermersen and Steve Clark were the only ones to file for those respective seats.
Amy Zenor is running for County Attorney, Ann Ditsworth as Recorder and Kris Rowley as Treasurer. All are Republicans and are unopposed for the primary. No Democrats filed.
