(Arnolds Park)– The Queen II will be temporarily lifted out of the water early next month to repair some minor damage to the hull caused by low lake levels last summer. Arnolds Park Amusement Park Board Chairman Charley Whittenberg says a crew from Louisiana will use an airbag type system to gently lift the Queen II out of the water so the necessary repairs. The work is scheduled to be done on Wednesday, May 4th at the Gavens Point boat ramp in Smiths Bay of West Lake Okoboji. Whittenberg says plans call for the work to be done within a 24-hour period. He adds that safety barricades will be erected around that area while the work is being done.
Whittenberg says “the Queen II will be fully operational for the 2022 season.”
