(Lake Park)– The Harris-Lake Park School Board has approved the hiring of a new Elementary Principal. Mike Thompson will begin in that position this coming July 1st. He started his educational career in Ventura where he taught for eight years. Thompson was then hired as an Elementary Principal at Belmond-Klemme where he also served as curriculum director and a special education coordinator for eight years. Most recently he worked for a company that provides technical support to schools.
The Elementary Principal position at Harris-Lake Park up until now had been a shared position with the Superintendent, Andy Irwin, who has resigned effective July 1st to move to another district.
