(Ames)– Kossuth/Palo Alto Economic Development Director Maureen Elbert was among those receiving special recognition during the annual Iowa Rural Summit last week. Elbert was among seven people presented with the Rand Fisher Leadership Award. Jim and Julie Vermeer of Spencer were also among those recognized.
The Iowa Rural Summit addressed issues ranging from ag tech innovation to arts and culture to entrepreneurship.
Fisher recently retired as CEO of the Iowa Area Development Group. He was also recognized during the event.
