Many Voices Choir to Perform Spring Concerts April 24-30

April 19, 2022 Becky Thoreson

(Estherville)-The Many Voices Choir has several performances coming up. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Many Voices Choir will perform their Spring Concert at several locations next week.

Director Tim Schumacher says, the choir is comprised of community members from around the region. “The Many Voices Choir is a volunteer choir. It’s made up of members of about 20 different surrounding communities around the Estherville area and the Lakes area. We put on several different concert series during the year. We do an Advent/Christmas concert in December, and now, this is the second half of our year so we’re going to do our spring Many Voices concert. Generally I try to do a wide variety of music. We do some classical traditional choral literature. We can sing a lot of different styles, so we do some jazz music. We do some spirituals and some folk songs, which are going to be on this concert, as well.”

He says the first concert will be on Sunday afternoon. “This Sunday, the 24th of April up in Sherburn, Minnesota at United Congregational Church, we’ll do a 3:30 concert, and the church hosts and provides a dinner following the concert which is always fun. Our second concert will be April 29th at Iowa Lakes Community College at the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center. That is a 7:30 concert on a Friday night, and our final concert of this series then will take place in Spirit Lake at the First Presbyterian Church on south Hill Avenue , and that’s a 7:30 concert, as well.”

A free will donation will be accepted.
