Trial Dates Set In Emmet County Murder Case

March 18, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Estherville)– Separate trial dates have been set for two men charged with first degree murder in the death of an Estherville man in October of last year. 19-year-old Connor Uhde and 18-year-old Cejay Van Der Wilt were charged in the death of 20-year-old David McDowell of Estherville who’s body was found along a rural Emmet county road by a passing motorist.

Uhde and Van Der Wilt are accused of luring McDowell to a residence and taking him to the rural location where he was then fatally shot. The two suspects were arrested after authorities executed search warrants on their residences.

Uhde is scheduled to go on trial August 23rd, with a September 20th trial date set for Van Der Wilt.
