(Emmetsburg)– A second suspect arrested earlier this week in the death of a man in Palo Alto county is due in court next week.
22-year-old Brice Colling was arrested Monday evening on a first degree murder charge in the July 2020 death of Rollin Bontrager of Washington, Iowa. A preliminary hearing for Colling is set for March 11th.
Bontrager’s body was found in Virgin Lake near Ruthven. An autopsy indicated Bontrager died of blunt force injuries consistent with being struck with a bolt cutter.
Another man charged in the case, Allan Schwidder of Emmetsburg, pleaded guilty in March of last year to 2nd degree murder.
