(Cherokee)– A fisherman was found dead shortly after having been reported missing in Cherokee County.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call at approximately 1:30pm today (Wed) stating that an ice fisherman had gone missing at a rural farm pond south of Cherokee. The fisherman’s body was recovered from the water less than an hour later. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the fisherman hasn’t been released, and no other information is available at this time.
The Buena Vista County Dive Team and Aurelia Fire Department are among the agencies that provided assistance.
