Special Election Held To Fill Vacancy On Ruthven City Council

March 02, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Ruthven)– A special election was held Tuesday to fill a vacant seat on the Ruthven City Council. The seat has been empty since the first of the year when councilman Dustin Johnson took over his elected position as Mayor. Two people filed for Johnson’s city council seat: Casey Pomeroy and Adam Kreutner. Unofficial results from Tuesday’s special election indicate Pomeroy was the winner with 39 votes, while Kreutner received 21.

The city council opted to hold a special election to fill the seat in place of appointing someone to the position.
