(Sioux City)– A Fort Dodge man will spend more than three years in federal prison on a federal firearms charge. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 52-year-old Stephen Bryant pleaded guilty in October of last year to prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Bryant admitted at a plea hearing he had previously been convicted of a felony and was a drug user prohibiting from possessing firearms.
Evidence showed on May 8th of last year officers pulled over a vehicle he was driving. A search of the vehicle turned up controlled substances, a stolen handgun and a magazine.
The case was investigated by the Spencer Police Department, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
