Lake Park City Council Presented With Preliminary Plans For An Affordable Housing Project

February 16, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Lake Park)– The Lake Park City Council Monday evening heard preliminary plans for an affordable housing development on 16 lots north of Lake Park Auto. Developer Chris Lindgren told the council it would consist of two and three bedroom patio homes. He added he wants to see if there’s any interest in the city participating financially before he goes much further in the process…

“With our land acquisition costs of $120,000 that puts my upfront cost at $7,500 per lot. What I would do is if we could get an agreement worked out to do the streets, sewer, water, gas, I would pay back per lot $11,500 to the city and to the utilities in a ratio that’s even.”

The council took no action on the matter Monday but did express an interest in researching it further. The proposed development would also have to go before the city’s Board of Adjustment.
