(Sibley)– A single vehicle crash late Monday afternoon in the southbound lanes of Highway 60 in Osceola county sent two people to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says 41-year-old Gilbert Chavez of Montebelo, California was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe when the vehicle left the road. Troopers say Chavez over-corrected, causing him to lose control. The vehicle then rolled, coming to rest in the northbound lanes of the highway. Authorities say Chavez was ejected from the vehicle. Chavez and a passenger, 32-year-old Dezirae Barela of Montebelo, California, were both taken to Osceola County Regional Hospital in Sibley.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation.
