Project To Make Valentine’s Day A Little More Special For Area Nursing Home Residents

February 07, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dickinson County is offering a program to help make Valentine’s Day a little more special for residents in area nursing homes. Sue Boettcher of ISU Extension and Outreach Dickinson County explains how it works…

“I saw on Facebook a post where a little girl spent her entire week at creating cards and sweet messages for local nursing homes, so senior citizens can feel the love this Valentine’s Day. And we thought wouldn’t it be fun if we could get a whole bunch of those Valentine’s cards and how special that would be for the seniors that are living in those nursing homes. So we are going to be a drop off point. If your kids or grandkids would like to make some valentines and drop them off at our office we will make sure that they get distributed to the three nursing homes that we have here in our county here in Milford, Spirit Lake and Lake Park.”

Again the ISU Extension and Outreach Office in Spirit Lake is serving as a drop off for the cards.
