The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced their Rock the Roof Concerts for the upcoming season, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has announced the 2022 Rock the Roof Concert Series.
Executive Director Clay Norris says the concerts will be held on Thursday evenings at the Roof Garden Ballroom throughout the summer. “We are on 12 of the possible 15 Thursdays this summer that start right before Memorial Day and then we end on September 1, basically kicking off our Induction Weekend. The two first concerts are Rock a La Carte on May 26, and they are always very energetic and versatile and so they will be absolutely great for the Rock the Roof kick off, and then on June 2, we have Richie Lee, and he’s very popular, so that’s going to be a really good show.”
He notes that the Association will host a Winter Games Open House at the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum this Saturday “We want it to be an excellent warming station for everyone, right? We have the Museum, right there next to the Maritime Museum and next to the Arnolds Park Museum, and we have got some special music. Rockin’ Vance Jorgensen is going to join us in there. We’re going to have discounts on merchandise. This Rock the Roof Series we were talking about, you’ve got the opportunity to buy a season pass. Since there’s 12 shows you can basically get 12 shows for the price of 10. We’ll have a lot of things going on and an opportunity to see the Museum if you haven’t. The bar will be open and we’ll also have soft drinks, hot chocolate and coffee.”
