(Des Moines)– Iowa’s unemployment rate is three-and-a-half percent for December – down two-tenths from three-point-seven percent in November. The number of unemployed Iowans fell by 38-hundred last month to 57-thousand-900. The number of Iowans working rose by 52-hundred in December to more than one-point-six million.
Iowa Workforce Development reports employers added 11-thousand-700 jobs and ended the year with job gains in each of the last four months. Manufacturing led all sectors with 61-hundred jobs gained as strikers returned to work.
The national jobless rate was three-point-nine percent in December.
