Spencer City Council Sends Proposed Food Truck Ordinance Back To Committee

January 19, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– A proposed ordinance that would regulate food trucks in the city of Spencer is headed back to committee for some fine tuning. The city council Monday was scheduled to hold a final consideration of the proposed rules but tabled the matter after hearing from the city’s Planning Director, Alec Schulz who said there are several things in proposal that need to be reviewed further…

“Looking at what the health code actually mandates for food trucks and local businesses alike, to better take a look at that for the ordinance; looking at sale of merchandise; hours of operation and the decibel ratings. A lot of these conversations we’ve had extensively throughout the period of this ordinance creation. I just would like one last committee meeting to discuss it at length.”

The matter will be put on the agenda for an upcoming meeting of the committee of the whole of the city council.
