(Arnolds Park)– The wildly popular Kite Festival will be back for this year’s University of Okoboji Winter Games. The kites will be flying Thursday, Friday and Saturday, January 27th, 28th and 29th over West Lake Okoboji. Blain Andera, CEO of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, says even more kites than last year are expected to be here…
“The St. Paul Kite Festival is not going to happen this year, so it sounds like quite a few of those folks are going to be coming down here. We are well on our way to having this be the biggest kite festival in the United States, so it’s really something to kick off with Winter Games. They’ll be flying the kites Thursday, Friday and Saturday so, you know, right down there on Smith’s Bay in front of Arnolds Park Amusement Park.
