(Sherburn, MN)-Martin County West let school out yesterday and today, due to a threat of violence at the Jr/Sr High School on December 21st. School officials consulted with law enforcement and decided to close for yesterday and today, for an abundance of caution. All activities are canceled, and all buildings are closed.
Anyone with any credible information about a threat of violence against the school is encouraged to bring information to Principal Michele Baker, and they also note that if any children are having issues with mental help that the school can connect you with resources to help.
The days of school will have to be rescheduled for later in the school year, meaning that the MCW School Board will need to approve a calendar change at their January meeting.
The message comes after a possible threat of violence was discovered in the school, and due to caution school officials decided it would be safest to close a few days early before Christmas.
