January 25th Set As Date For Special Election In Milford

December 03, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Milford)– January 25th, 2022 has been set as the date for a special election in Milford to fill one vacancy each on the city council and Park Board. Whoever’s elected to the city council seat will fill out a term that expires December 31st, 2023; the person elected to the Park Board seat will serve a term that expires December 31st, 2025. They would then be able to seek a full term if they so desire in the next city election. City Administrator LeAnn Reinsbach says candidacy papers for both positions are now available…

“Papers can be picked up right now at the City Clerk’s Office here in Milford Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and they also need to be returned here to the City Clerk’s Office by December 30th at 4:00 pm.”

Reinsbach says they are starting to see some interest in the positions…

“We’ve had a couple people come in and get papers, and that’s it. So we’re encouraging to see some more people come in and grab papers.”

The polling site for the January 25th special election will be the Milford Community Center. Voting will take place from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.
