Infrastructure Bill Could Be A Huge Benefit To Lewis And Clark Regional Water System

November 30, 2021 Steve Schwaller

(Sioux Center)– Officials say the Infrastructure and Jobs Act could be a major boon for the Lewis and Clark Regional Water System. They say it could result in the system securing more than $130 million in funding that would put the project on the cusp of being able to deliver 45 million gallons a day to 20 member cities and rural water systems. Communities not yet connected include Hull, Sheldon, Sibley and Sioux Center in Iowa and Madison, South Dakota.

Chairman Murray Hulstein of Hull says the infrastructure bill is a huge boost to their construction efforts. He says it will have an “immense impact on improving the quality of life and expanding economic development opportunities in northwest Iowa and the rest of the tristate region.” Hulstein added “We have been at this since the late ’80’s and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel”.
