(Milford)– Voters in the city of Milford will head to the polls to fill a vacancy on the city council. The council took the action Monday evening in place of making an appointment. Mayor Steve Anderson says the city was going to have to have a special election anyway…
The special election will cost the city about $3,500. A date for it hasn’t been set yet. The council vacancy was created earlier this month with the resignation of Aaron Gephart.
In other business, the council tabled action on a hold harmless agreement for the city to perform snow removal on 23rd Street, which is privately owned. Councilman Andy Yungbluth said he’s concerned over what would happen should city equipment be damaged in the process of plowing the street, which is near Boji Junction…
City officials will meet with owner/developer Tim Kinnetz regarding the matter. The city in the past expressed a reluctance to take over the street, siting concern over the location and condition of some infrastructure in that area.
