(Estherville)– A Spencer man faces multiple drug charges as the result of an investigation into the fraudulent use of a vehicle registration.
Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens says a deputy on patrol in Armstrong Monday evening observed a vehicle in the Casey’s General Store parking lot with a license plate not assigned to it. It was determined the driver, 46-year-old Robert Ryker of Spencer, was wanted on outstanding warrants from Clay and Dickinson counties, and he was taken into custody. A K-9 unit was deployed on the vehicle, resulting in controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and a scale being found, along with a large sum of cash.
Ryker was booked into jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine…3rd offense, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, possession of a controlled substance…tramadol hydrochloride, possession of cannabidiol, possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver’s license, failure to provide proof of financial liability, fraudulent use of registration and operating a non-registered vehicle.
Ryker was being held on a $20,000 cash or surety bond.
