(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) rejected bids received last week on some bridge strengthening projects that came in much higher than expected. A project by the county Conservation Board for a new pedestrian bridge at Horseshoe Bend Park was a part of the package. County Engineer Dan Eckert said it’s that latter project that escalated the cost. He expressed concern over the possible legalities of separating that project out of the original bid package and recommended the two bids that were received be rejected altogether.
Requests for new bids will be put together and will likely be going out sometime next month.
