(Milford)– A special event Saturday (Nov. 6th) in Milford will pay tribute to the fallen, injured and left behind in Afghanistan. “The Iowa Great Lakes Patriots”, a newly formed grassroots group in the lakes area, will hold the ceremony at noon on the grounds of the Milford American Legion.
Organizers say the program will include prayer, dedication and an honor guard salute. 13 white crosses and 13 American flags will also be displayed, paying tribute to the 13 fallen and the countless injured and those left behind during the withdrawal from Afghanistan in August.
The crosses and flags will remain on display through Veterans Day.
