The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will present Rock 4 Vets on Veterans Day. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will present Rock 4 Vets at the Roof Garden Ballroom on November 11.
Executive Director Clay Norris says the event will feature live music by Galaxy. “Galaxy is a very popular group around here, it’s Glenn Henricksen and his group. It isn’t going to be 100 percent patriotic music because people do want to dance to the 50s and 60s and 70s music that he plays, but he is going to mix in the songs of the different service branches throughout the show. He does a great job. This is something that he’s all over, and we just want to honor the Veterans.”
He adds that a meal will be offered free of charge for Veterans. “For Veterans, your dinner for yourself and your spouse is free, courtesy of Arnolds Park, and then your admission is free courtesy of a bunch of sponsors. Veterans will get in for free, and then the rest of us, it’s $10 a ticket and then the meal would be a charge.
The meal will start at 6 with the music starting at 7 o’clock.
