(Arnolds Park)– An issue with handicap accessibility has resulted in a change for a polling location for next week’s city and school elections for one voting precinct in Dickinson county. Jordan Moyer oversees elections for the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office. She says it affects voters in Arnolds Park and Okoboji…
“We had set it for the Hedberg Theatre there because of the construction they have on Lake Street, but unfortunately with not having the handicap accessibility all day during the polling hours, we were unable to do it at the Hedberg Theatre, so we’re actually going to do it at the Pavilion and I know that there is construction down there like I said, but there is parking available along Lake Street as needed if you would like to park closer.”
Moyer says there’s a handy resource available if you’re not sure on where your polling site is located…
“We’ve got the five voting locations. If you aren’t sure where you vote you can either call our office or you can go on to the Secretary of State’s website and look to see where your polling place is.”
Polls will be open Tuesday, November 2nd from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm.
You can also still vote early in person at the elections room at the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office at the courthouse in Spirit Lake.
