(Undated)– Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a chance to get rid of unused and unneeded medications. Local law enforcement agencies, pharmacies, and others are collecting the leftover prescription drugs, as part of this special one-day event held each spring and fall.
The Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy says the collection held in April netted nearly eight-point-five tons of old medicine from Iowans.
The Spirit Lake Police Department will have a drop-off location Saturday at the Hy-Vee parking lot in Spirit Lake from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
