(Spirit Lake)– Construction of sanitary sewer in the Center Lake area will result in a road closure. Minger Construction of Jordan, Minnesota, the general contractor on the project, says the first major phase includes the installation of an open trench along 225th Place. Sewer construction will begin at the south side of 165th Street and progress south and west along 225th Place.
They add 225th Place will be closed to through traffic beginning this coming Wednesday, October 20th with asphalt milling beginning the next day, Thursday, October 21st. Sanitary sewer installation will begin the week of October 25th with completion expected in late December.
Officials say temporary gravel surfacing will be put on the road to allow access through the winter. They say more permanent restoration work will be done this coming spring as the weather allows.
