Spencer Chamber Holding Halloween Decorating Contest

(Spencer)– The Spencer Chamber of Commerce is putting on a contest for those who decorate their homes for halloween. Becky Fear-Hatting of the Chamber says the deadline to get entered is quickly approaching…

“Monday at 5:00 pm is the last we will be taking entries. All you have to do is call the chamber, which is 262-5680 or you can email programs, with an s because people forget to put that on there, at SpencerIowaChamber.org”

Judging will take place October 21st and 22nd with the winners being announced October 26th. She says prizes will be awarded to the top three…

“You get, the first place gets $200 in chamber dollars; second is $100 in chamber dollars and third is $50. Now we will ask you a few questions when you call like your name, your address, phone and email because we have to have a way of contacting you if you win, afterwards. Nothing will be publicized except for your address. We want the public to be able to go out and see all of these wonderful decorations also.”

The contest is open only to those living within the city limits of Spencer.
