(Whittemore)– Authorities in Kossuth county are investigating after a man who was found along Highway 15 north of Whittemore Sunday morning died. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were notified around 2:40 am of a man lying on the shoulder of the road and that there was a vehicle parked there. Deputies and paramedics arrived on the scene. The man, later identified as 39-year-old Bradley Albertson of Fenton, was taken to Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona where he later died. An autopsy is being conducted by the State Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death. The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office says the matter is still under investigation.
As we reported Tuesday, the body of a man was found Saturday morning along a road about five miles northeast of Estherville. The victim was identified as 20-year-old David McDowell of Estherville. An autopsy is also being performed in that case to determine an exact cause of death.
The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office also investigated an incident reported to them shortly after 2:30 am Sunday in which a man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
In a social media post by Estherville Police, they say “none of the investigations in Kossuth county are tied to the Emmet county investigation at this time”.
