(Sioux City)– Shawna Ditsworth has been appointed as a district associate judge of the Third Judicial District by the district judges of the 3A judicial election subdistrict. She fills the position created by the upcoming retirement of District Associate Judge David C. Larson.
District associate judges hear serious and aggravated misdemeanor cases, small claims, hospitalization cases as well as juvenile cases and civil suits for judgments of up to $10,000.
District Associate judges stand for a retention election a year after their appointment and at the end of their six-year term.
