(Iowa Falls)– A two-vehicle collision Friday on Highway 20 in north central Iowa claimed the life of a Spencer man.
The Iowa State Patrol says 61-year-old Bryan Harken of Spencer was driving a 2016 Ford Explorer eastbound and 18-year-old Alexzander Purman of Elkader was driving a 2011 Chevrolet pickup westbound. Troopers say the vehicle driven by Purman traveled into the median and went into the westbound lanes of traffic where it collided head-on with Harken’s vehicle. Harken was pronounced dead at the scene. Purman was transported by air to a Des Moines hospital.
Troopers say the crash took place around 10:30 am Friday. They say it’s still under investigation.
