(Ashton)– A single vehicle crash Sunday near Ashton injured a Little Rock man.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Victor Lewi lost control of a 2002 Oldsmobile while traveling northbound on a county road near Ashton. The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled several times, coming to rest in a field of standing corn.
Lewi was taken to the Rock Rapids hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The vehicle he was driving was totaled. Officials say about a half acre of corn was damaged.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation, but they believe alcohol and excessive speed were factors.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Ashton EMS, Osceola County Ambulance and a wrecker service assisted on the scene.
