There are a couple of events on tap at the Pearson Lakes Art Center next week, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Pearson Lakes Art Center will present Reza, Edge of Illusion on Tuesday evening.
Performing Arts Director Rachelle Fratzke says, the world-renowned illusionist puts on quite a show. “He was here six years ago, I think it was, and it’s just a wonderful show. He is a fabulous illusionist. The year that he came before, he made a motorcycle appear on our stage. This year, he tells me he’s going to make a helicopter appear on our stage. So, I think that will be pretty fascinating. We’re also doing a show in the early afternoon for all of the 6th graders in Dickinson County. He always wants to add a children’s portion to his show, so I love that about him.”
She notes that the 24th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival will be shown on Thursday night. “This is a program we’ve been doing for many years. It’s a group of 10 short films from artists worldwide, and it’s judged by the Manhattan Shorts Committee first, so that’s the top 10, and then they bring them to theatres and the participants at the Art Center will be able to vote on their favorite movie and their favorite actor, and that will go in with the worldwide compilation for top one.”
