(New Hartford)– U-S Senator Chuck Grassley is running for an eighth term next year. The 88-year-old Iowa Republican announced his re-election early this (Friday) morning.
Grassley’s campaign account on Twitter features a GIF of the Senator running, plus a photo of Grassley in a corn field, with a sentence quoting Grassley as saying he “has a lot more to do, for Iowa.”
Grassley recently said he’s had his annual physical, is healthy and goes for a run before sunrise six days a week.
Grassley could face a primary challenge from Republican state Senator Jim Carlin of Sioux City.
Iowa Democratic Party chair Ross Wilburn issued a statement saying, “Chuck ( Grassley) didn’t think working families deserved the Child Tax Credit, he voted against a bipartisan investigation into the deadly attack on the U-S Capitol, and he flip-flopped to get Trump’s nominee on the U-S Supreme Court.”
