Another Reminder Of Upcoming Public Informational Meetings On Proposed Midwest Carbon Express Pipeline Project

(Undated)– Another reminder of a series of public informational meetings on a proposal by Summit Carbon Solutions, LLC to construct a carbon dioxide pipeline through several northwest Iowa counties, including Dickinson.

Public informational meetings will be held tomorrow (Wed. Sept. 22nd) at 12 Noon at the Sheldon Community Center in Sheldon and at 6:00 pm tomorrow (Wed. Sept. 22nd) evening at the Cherokee Community Center in Cherokee. On Thursday (Sept. 23rd), informational meetings are scheduled for Spirit Lake and Estherville. The meeting in Spirit Lake will be held at 12 Noon at the Dickinson County Expo Building; the Emmet county meeting will be at 5:30 pm that evening at the Regional Wellness Center in Estherville. The meeting for Palo Alto county is set for 12:30 pm Monday, September 27th at Iowa Lakes Community College and at 6:00 pm that evening at Eagle Center Banquet in Lakota. An informational meeting for Clay county is set for 12 Noon Friday, October 8th at the Events Center.

The Midwest Carbon Express Pipeline would capture carbon dioxide from ethanol plants in Iowa and four other states and transport it to North Dakota where it would be stored underground.

The proposed project is classified by the Iowa Utilities Board as a hazardous liquid pipeline.
