Parks & Campgrounds In O’Brien County Will Be Open This Weekend After Park Rangers Resign

May 27, 2021

(Primghar)– O’Brien county parks and campgrounds WILL be open this (Memorial Day Weekend) even after all four of the county’s park rangers resigned this week, citing what they say was a “hostile work environment”.

The O’Brien County Conservation Board accepted the resignations of the four staff members at a meeting Wednesday evening. They’ll be reimbursed for accrued vacation and comp time.

Plans call for O’Brien county parks and campgrounds to be staffed in the interim by contract employees, volunteers and by a former seasonal employee that will be returning to help out with maintenance.
