(Spencer)-A March for Babies fundraiser is slated for this Saturday in Spencer, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
A March of Dimes sanctioned March for Babies will be held on Saturday in Spencer.
Lead Captain Kayla Konrady says, it’s to help raise funds and awareness for babies and their mothers. “March of Dimes and March of Babies, we do a walk to help build awareness and do fundraisers for prematurity, moms and babies, cases of birth defects and our angel babies. So, it starts at 11:30 am at East Leach Park in Spencer. Our walk will start by the playground they have there, we’ll walk all the way up to Sneakers or Pizza Ranch there, and we’ll walk all the way back. After that, we have lunch set up, we have raffle drawings, we have a new fundraiser punch board this year, we have a bunch of photo prop stuff this year, and we’ll have our YDC dance girls performing this year.”
She adds that a suggested donation of $20 will include a commemorative T-shirt. “There’s no specific cost. We are doing a $20 donation for a tee shirt. You can just donate when you get there if you’d like. Some people have already donated as far as helping us get stuff for lunch, but the day of the walk, there will be a donation box there on the table and you can ask them how it all works.”
