Milford City Council Approves Amended Contractual Agreement With The City’s Zoning Administrator

May 11, 2021

(Milford)– The Milford City Council voted unanimously Monday evening to modify a contractual agreement with the city’s Zoning Administrator, Don Brinkley. It removes him from any dealings with zoning issues pertaining to the Okoboji Schools. Brinkley lives adjacent to the Okoboji High School and has had ongoing disputes with the district. City Attorney David Stein told the council the action would remove any potential for a conflict of interest…David Stein Jr.

“When it comes to that entity since he’s had ongoing issues and I’m not saying who’s responsible, I think it just separates him and takes him out of that situation and it certainly would be great if he continued on in that capacity for other projects.”

The city instead will retain the services of the Northwest Iowa Planning and Development Agency in Spencer for zoning-related matters pertaining to the school district.
