Hartley Man Escapes Injury In Semi Rollover

May 07, 2021

(Spencer)– A Hartley man escaped injury when a semi he was driving overturned this (Fri.) morning.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says Devon Ten Kley of Hartley was driving a 2007 Freightliner owned by Cooperative Farmers Elevator in the 3100 mile of 120th Avenue when he met another vehicle. Authorities say the semi’s tires dropped off the shoulder, causing it to slide into a ditch where it rolled.

About $60,000 in damage was estimated to the semi and the road in that area had to be closed while crews removed the wreckage.

The mishap took place around 7:30 am.
