Head-On Crash Involving A Pickup And A Semi On I-90 Near Welcome, Mn. Sends Two People To The Hospital

May 07, 2021

(Welcome, Mn.)– A collision Thursday involving a pickup and a semi on Interstate 90 west of Welcome sent two people to the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 60-year-old Philip Potter of Worthington was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram westbound when the vehicle crossed through the median. Troopers say it then collided head-on with an eastbound 1999 Volvo semi driven by 59-year-old Kenn Dickenson of Sioux Falls.

Potter and Dickenson were both taken by ambulance to the Fairmont hospital with what was described as non-life threatening injuries.

The crash took place a little after 7:00 am. It resulted in the eastbound lanes of the interstate being closed in that area for a time.

The Sherburn and Welcome Police Departments, Sherburn Fire and Ambulance, Welcome First Responders and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office assisted on the scene.
