(Armstrong)– The filing deadline for those interested in running for the special election for Mayor in Armstrong has now passed, with just one person returning papers.
Travis Schueller was the lone candidate to file. He’s also the Superintendent of the North Union Community School District.
The city council had appointed David Grussing as Mayor, after Greg Buum, who held the seat previously, resigned. Buum was one of several current and city officials charged in an investigation into financial and other irregularities in the city.
Grussing didn’t file for the May 11th special election, which is being held after residents in Armstrong gathered enough signatures on a petition.
