(Orange City)– A collision Sunday in Sioux county involving a car and a motorcycle claimed the life of a Sioux Center woman.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Dyson Kooima of Rock Valley was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion northbound on a county road and 55-year-old Jana Haglund of Sioux Center was driving a 2007 Cobra Sunset motorcycle southbound. Deputies say Haglund lost control of the motorcycle which went into the northbound lane and collided with the vehicle driven by Kooima.
Haglund was ejected from the motorcycle. She was pronounced dead of her injuries. Kooima was taken to the Sioux Center hospital with minor injuries.
The collision took place shortly after 11:30 am.
