(Spirit Lake)– A Sioux Rapids man charged in a stabbing last summer in Dickinson county has pled guilty to a lesser charge as part of a plea deal.
Darrell Pounds was charged in the stabbing of 22-year-old Troy Peterson at a residence in Milford.
Pounds was originally charged with attempted murder. He pled guilty to willful injury. Other charges of 2nd degree theft and possession of a controlled substance were dismissed in exchange. He was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.
Pounds had originally pled not guilty to the attempted murder charge and was to go on trial this week.
