(Spencer)– A new campaign to assist area businesses and industries looking to hire additional personnel is getting underway. Brian Dalziel, interim President and CEO of the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation says they are in the process of putting together some worker recruitment videos…
“We’ve got companies that have hired over 100 people so far this year and they need another 40, 50 more. So we’ve got a program for these companies that are looking for people and having trouble finding them where they can shoot recruitment videos. And with these videos we will not only push them out to our Get A Lakes Life platform with our 173 community champions that they can contact a person far, far away that they wish were living here into a one to one marketing recruitment campaign. In addition to that, which folks may already be familiar with and if you’re not, go to Get A Lakes Life-dot-com and learn all about it, we’ll also be doing some paid advertising in limited markets north of here recruiting workers utilizing not only some of the Get A Lakes Life content that we already have, but some of these new videos that we’ll shoot that showcase in particular employment opportunity with a particular employer.”
Dalziel is encouraging businesses and industries looking to participate in the campaign to put together a list of things that makes them unique…
“What makes their work environment special, what makes them as a company in terms of their management style special, it might be a laddering up program for teaching soft skills and special development, it might be tuition reimbursement, it might be that they support the community with little leagues and all sorts of community things. There’s something special in every workplace and we want these workplaces to be self aware of what makes them unique and different and be able to articulate that. We’ll capture that in a video and we’ll push that out through social media, paid media and other means.”
