Emmetsburg’s 61st St. Patrick’s Day Celebration to be held March 18-21 this year

Emmetsburg’s 61st St, Patrick’s Day Celebration will be held March 18 through 21 this year.

Stephanie Mehan, Chair of the St. Pat’s Association says things will get started on Thursday afternoon.  “On Thursday afternoon, we’ll have our annual St. Pat’s Irish Coffee at our St. Pat’s Headquarters.  That’s open to the public.  We’ll have coffee and treats, and then that’s a good time for people to start shopping.”

She adds that the festivities will run through the weekend.  “On Friday morning things start off right away with our annual Chamber Coffee.  We have the Fish Fry, the Bean Bag Tournament and some live music by One Lane Friday night.  Saturday jumps into the O’Round the Loch Run.  We have a Chainsaw Artist, our Famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Gathering of the Clans at the Fire Department, a free movie, and then we have our Chainsaw Art Auction and raffle drawing followed by the New Trick Band in our heated tent.”

She notes that masks and social distancing are encouraged.  “Things will look different, we’ve had to cancel quite a few things that we do.  We are strongly recommending social distancing and face masks be worn.  If you’re ill or not feeling well or have had COVID or been in contact with COVID, we ask that you stay home.”
