Registration underway for Family Nature Night to be held March 26

The Dickinson County Nature Center will hold a Family Nature Night on March 26.

Naturalist Ashley Hansen says this month’s event will focus on water – in two languages.  “We decoded to incorporate a little bit of foreign language into this one, so we are going to be reading a story in both English and Spanish, and then we are going to be learning about the water cycle.  So, we’re going to go over the different parts of the water cycle and we’re going to learn some of those words as well in Spanish.  We’re going to learn how to say river and cloud and ocean and lake, all in Spanish.  The families will get to do a game called The Incredible Journey, when they get to be a water droplet and go on this incredible journey through the water cycle.  To wrap things up at the end of the night, we’re going to do a watercolor craft.”

She adds that the event is free but registration is required.  “So, it’s free, but we do ask that you just call the Nature Center ahead of time to register.  We have two time slots.  There’s a 5 pm and a 7 pm, and we are allowing 8 families per time slot so we definitely recommend and encourage preregistering.”

The Nature Night will be held at the new Maser Monarch Lodge.
