“It’s been awesome to get to work with some BV staff down there and getting this all lined up. This is going to allow Sioux Central to strengthen their employee benefit package with an educational resource like Buena Vista University. It allows our staff and their families to advance their education to continue to improve themselves and their community. So just a big thank you to BVU for putting this out for us and just a shout out to all of our staff here as well to continue their education.”
The partnership will give Sioux Central teachers a chance to obtain a masters degree and more…
“And also I’ve got some para professionals that are actually signed up already to go back to actually get their elementary ed degrees as well. So some para professionals have been working in the education department for a couple of years and they decided, no, I want to be a teacher as well so they’re going back to get their undergrad to.”
Scharn said 22 BVU graduates are currently on staff at Sioux Central.
